Attack and Rangers square off in Round 1

The Owen Sound Attack will face the Kitchener Rangers in the Conference Quarterfinal Round of the 2017 Ontario Hockey League Playoffs.

A 6-4 London Knights’ loss at the hands of the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds on Sunday, Mar. 19 secured 2nd place in the Midwest Division and 3rd place overall in the Western Conference for the Attack, who entered play on Sunday one point ahead of the London Knights.

London, who finished 4th in the Western Conference, completed the regular season with a record of 46-15-3-4, and 99 points, one point behind Owen Sound’s 100 points and 48-15-2-2 record through 67 games.

The Attack, who take on the Guelph Storm at the Sleeman Centre on at 6:30pm on Sunday evening, will now finish in 3rd place regardless of their outcome against Guelph, because of that one point differential, and square off against the 6th place Kitchener Rangers in round one.

After finishing the regular season with a 7-1 record over eight games against the Rangers, Owen Sound will play host to their Midwest Division rival in game one of the post-season match up on Friday, Mar. 24 at 7:30pm at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre.
