A pair of Owen Sound Attack players have been named to the National Hockey League’s final Central Scouting Ranking ahead of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft in Dallas, Texas.
Ranked as the 37th overall North American skater, defenceman Sean Durzi leads the way for Attack skaters, while forward Aidan Dudas appears on the list at 68th for North American born players.
In an injury shortened season that saw Durzi appear in just 40 games, the Mississauga native impressed every single time he touched the ice. 15 goals and 34 assists for 49 points helped him set a career high in production, while drawing the eye of many NHL scouts who passed him over in the draft last season.
Durzi’s production hasn’t fallen off in the post season either, with two goals and nine helpers in 10 games to help pace the Attack to a 7th game against the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds in the Western Conference Semifinal.
For Dudas, the 68th overall position is an increase of 53 spots from the midterm rankings.
The Parry Sound native exploded in the 2nd half of the season, and used a stellar performance at the Sherwin-Williams CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game to garner more attention for the NHL Entry Draft. In 68 games for the Attack this past season, Dudas scored 31 times and added 34 assists to finish 3rd in team scoring.
Thus far in the playoffs, Dudas has scored three times to go along with four assists for seven points.
