Toronto Maple Leafs Take Durzi in 2nd Round with 52nd Pick
Sean Durzi becomes the first Attack player taken in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft with the Toronto Maple Leafs selecting him with the 52nd overall pick in the 2nd round.
Durzi was selected by the Maple Leafs after being passed over at the 2017-18 NHL Draft. The 5’11, 185-pound Attack defencemen racked up 10 goals, 34 assists and a plus/minus rating of +19 in an injury shortened 40 OHL regular season games. In the playoffs he continued to excel adding 4 goals, 12 assists and a plus/minus of +6.
The native of Mississauga, Ontario was drafted by the Attack 228th overall in round 12 of the 2014 OHL Priority Selection. In his three seasons with Owen Sound he tallied 27 goals, 76 assists in 145 regular season games, while adding 5 goals and 21 helpers in 33 playoff games.
Durzi is one of two Attack players ranked in the NHL’s Central Scouting Bureau final rankings, marked as the 37th ranked North American skater ahead of the 2018 Draft.
