Attack Alumni Daylon Groulx Signs to Austrian League

Owen Sound Attack alum Daylon Groulx signed a professional contract with EC-KAC Rotjacken in the Austrian League.

Originally from Fort Erie, Daylon started his career in the OHL with the Owen Sound Attack as a 4th round draft pick in 2016 from the Southern Tier Admirals of the SCTA. He spent four seasons with the Attack, until being moved to the Ottawa 67s at least year’s trade deadline. In his OHL career, Groulx amassed 207 games played with 87 points (50 goals, 37 assists). His scoring and physical play helped catch the eyes of the team, as did his Canadian-Austrian citizenship. While in Ottawa, Groulx played with highly touted Austrian prospect Marco Rossi which further boosted his prominence in Austria. His father, Wayne Groulx, played for the Red Jackets in 1993/94 season and has a record of 204 goals in 213 games played in the league. Wayne Groulx remains in 2nd place on the OHL all-time scoring list with 477 points.

Daylon says “I am beyond happy for the opportunity to sign my first pro contract. I want to thank my teammates, coaches and management for helping me to get here.”

Rotjacken General Manager Oliver Pilloni said there will be a transition period but is excited for the forward’s future.

The Owen Sound Attack congratulates Daylon on his new chapter with EC-KAC and thanks him for his dedication to the team and the City of Owen Sound.
