Attack are back in the saddle to face the Colts

The Attack are back in action after a pro-longed Covid pause this Sunday as they face the Barrie Colts.
This will be just the second of the teams’ scheduled meetings this year. In the first game the Attack came out on top with a final score of 4-3 beating their long-time former goalie Mack Guzda. Guzda was the first of two overage exchanges the teams have made this season having moved to Barrie back in November for a pair of draft picks.
Since joining Barrie, Guzda has posted a .923 save percentage to go along with 6 wins in 7 appearances. Guzda was also recognized this past week as the goaltender of the month in the OHL for December. The Attack will have to bring their best game should their old teammate take the reigns between the pipes.
The other overage player with links to both sides of this matchup is the recently acquired Dallas Stars prospect Nick Porco. Looking to provide a fresh spark to the Attack lineup, Porco, who has provided the Colts with 13 points in 19 games this year, will be facing his old team as his first opponent in an Owen Sound Attack uniform. He undoubtedly will bring his strong experience and presence to a young Attack forward core.
Prior to the Christmas break the Attack were coming off of wins in 3 of 4 with the one loss at the hands of the Spitfires in Windsor. Owen Sound will want to begin gaining some momentum in the standings as they make up their games in hand. The Attack still possess the 6th best winning percentage in the division and should set their eyes on maintaining their consistent play into the backend of the season schedule.
A reminder to fans that due to government restrictions there will be no attendance permitted for this game.
Attack Fans will still be able to catch the game starting at 2pm Sunday on RogersTV Grey County Ch. 53, or stream on OHL Live, as well as listen live on 560 CFOS Bears Radio.
The weekend preview is sponsored by Joe Tomatoes in the Galaxy Plaza on the sunset strip.
