Attack Hoping to Build off Hockey Day Success

After a busy week that saw the Owen Sound Attack play four games in six days, on top of all the festivities of Hockey Day in Canada, the Bears will enjoy a lighter week of action with just a pair of games on the schedule.

It all starts Friday night when the Attack travel south to Guelph for a Highway 6 battle against the Storm. Though having their struggles this season against their Midwest rivals, the Attack claimed a win during the team’s last meeting two weeks ago. The Storm have slowly been pulling themselves back into the thick of the Western Conference, which adds another wrinkle into the Friday night tilt, as the regular season stretch run begins to come into focus.

The Saturday night, Owen Sound welcomes the Sudbury Wolves to the Bears Den, for the first time since early in the 2019-20 season. A game that would have been billed as Attack captain Colby Barlow vs Wolves standout Quentin Musty, but an unfortunate injury will hold Musty out. Instead, the game will see a pair of NHL draftee’s and former minor hockey teammate go head-to-head, in Owen Sound’s Cedrick Guindon and Sudbury’s David Goyette. The pair were also selected back to back in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection Draft, with Guindon going 10th overall to Owen Sound and Goyette 11th to Sudbury. Saturday night’s game will also mark another pair of Ottawa natives battling, this time a pair of rookies in the Attack’s Ben Cormier and the Wolves Nathan Villeneuve. Though the team’s don’t see one another very often, there will be no shortage of storylines going into Saturday night’s action.

With the lighter week ahead, Owen Sound will look to build off a strong finish to the weekend, as they claimed wins over a pair of top Eastern Conference teams in Peterborough and Ottawa. As the season winds down, Owen Sound looks to string some consecutive wins together and provide themselves some breathing room from the rest of the Western Conference.

Tickets for Saturday nights game at the Bayshore are starting to become limited, but fans can purchase theirs at the MacVicor and McComb Sutton Realty Attack Box Office by calling (519) 371-7452 or going online.

The Weekend Preview is presented by Joe Tomatoes located in the Galaxy Plaza on the Sunset Strip.
