The Owen Sound Attack are proud to announce the hiring of Devon Yakabuski as the team’s Community Relations Coordinator.
A native of Owen Sound, Ontario, Yakabuski has extensive experience as a marketing professional in digital communications, community outreach and event coordination, both in and out of the sports industry.
After completing a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing, Yakabuski began her career in sports as a young Inside Sales rep at Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE) in Toronto. Over the next four years, she worked her way up through various roles such as New Business Development, Premium Membership Services and Brand Management. Focusing on the National Hockey League’s Toronto Maple Leafs brand, she implemented multiple new marketing initiatives for the team and handled all external member communication.
“We are very excited to have a person of Devon’s calibre join the Attack organization” said Business Manager Ray McKelvie. “Her previous experience will be invaluable in helping shape the Attack’s front office for years to come.”
After her four years in the heart of Toronto with MLSE, Yakabuski has decided to return home and join the hockey community she grew up watching.
“To come back home, to a community as passionate as Owen Sound is about hockey is very exciting” said Yakabuski. “I just can’t wait to be a part of that again.”
As the Community Relations Coordinator Yakabuski will be responsible for all community related requests and events as well as holding communications responsibilities including media requests, the team website (www.attackhockey.com) and the Struyk Energy Systems social media feeds. Effective Wednesday, July 18th, she will be reachable by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at (519) 371-7452 extension 42. Until then all requests of this matter should continue to go to Greg Hoddinott, Coordinator of Sales and Corporate Partnerships.
