The Owen Sound Attack held two picks in the 2018 CHL Import Draft on Thursday, the 45th overall pick in the first round and the 105th spot in the 2nd round, both of which they made known yesterday they intended to use.
Attack General Manager Dale DeGray used his 45th overall pick to select German born forward Manuel Alberg. A native of Koln, Germany, Alberg played last season with the Kolner EC Jr team where he found the back of the net 24 times and added 26 assists in just 39 games. He also added 1 assist in three playoff games.
“Manuel has a great skill set and is a good skater” said DeGray. “He is a guy that is going to be considered by NHL teams for the 2019 NHL Entry draft.”
Alberg has also competed internationally for Germany in 2017-18, playing for the U18 team at the IIHF World Division 1A championships. In five games he had 1 goal and 4 assists.
The Attack will select once again in th 105th spot in the second round.
