Nick Chenard Continuing Hockey Adventure with Commitment to Dalhousie

Former Owen Sound Attack net minder Nick Chenard is continuing both his hockey and academic adventure on Canada’s East Coast, as he has committed to Dalhousie University and their Men’s Hockey program the Tigers for the 2023-24 season.
Drafted by the Attack in the 2018 OHL draft (6th round, 108th), Chenard played 93 games across three season with the Bears, and sits 8th on the franchises all-time wins list with 44 victories. Having taken over the starter role in the 2021-22 season, Chenard, or better known as Ricky to his teammates, was stellar in net for the Attack as they pushed a strong Flint Firebirds team to seven games in the opening round of the playoffs. A big reason for the near upset, was thanks in part to Ricky, who posted a .925 save percentage throughout the series.
“I’d like to thank everyone in the Owen Sound organization for helping me along my journey through my hockey career and to all the people I have met,” Chenard said. “I’m excited to continue my journey with Dalhousie and excited to see what the future has in store.”
Chenard has had a whirlwind couple weeks since his time in Owen Sound ended, as he was given a taste of NHL life with an Emergency Backup role with the Toronto Maple Leafs just a week ago.
The Owen Sound Attack organization, and the entire Owen Sound community wish Nick nothing but the best as he pushes forward with his career, and want to thank the Tecumseh, ON native for everything he brought to the franchise and the city.
