Hockey for Hospice Night – Presented by Gay Lea Foods Cooperative
The Owen Sound Attack and Grey Bruce Hospice Inc. partnered to bring ‘Hockey for Hospice’ night presented by Gay Lea Foods Cooperative to the Bayshore Saturday, February 18th when the Saginaw Spirit and Attack faced off in regular season action.
Although falling in the game by a score of 4-3 the night was a success of the ice with $60,000.00 total raised between all Hockey for Hospice initiatives.
100% of funds raised through charitable efforts leading up to and on game night are used to support local residents needing palliative and end-of-life care at Chapman House. Grey Bruce Hospice relies on fundraising efforts by our community to cover over 50% of operational expenses every year. The Attack have had several members of the Attack family use the services provided by Grey Bruce Hospice, including the losses of our beloved Business Manager Ray and his partner Georgina McKelvie.
Hockey for Hospice Jerseys: Presented by Grey-Bruce Dairy Producers
Leading up to the game the Attack and Grey Bruce Hospice Inc. offered a unique opportunity for fans and the community to both support Hockey for Hospice night and create a personal connection with the team on game night.
For the first time, for a $50 donation you could have a loved one’s name commemorated on each and every one of the specialty game night jerseys, sponsored by Grey-Bruce Dairy Producers, to be worn by each Attack player during the game. The names will appear repeated throughout on the interior light blue colour of the jersey, allowing fans and players to bear the memory of loved ones in the Owen Sound Community.
Fans also had the chance to order and customize their very own replica jersey for Hockey for Hospice night complete with a name, number, captain or assistant, all for just $200. Every replica jersey will feature the same commemorative names that don our game worn jerseys.
As always the Attack will be auctioning off all of our game worn jerseys the week leading up to the game on our online auction platform DASH. Fans can secure a piece of Hockey for Hospice night memorabilia, support Grey Bruce Hospice, and win a jersey worn by their favourite Attack player.
Our extra game-issued jerseys as always will be available for sale in the Attack Shack on the Monday following the game.

Hockey for Hospice Celebrity Serve at East Side Mario's
On January 30th, from 6-8pm at East Side Mario’s in Owen Sound, fans joined the Attack in supporting Hockey for Hospice night by enjoying a great dinner, served by one of our players. We also raffled off a signed Attack prize to all those in attendance at the restaurant.
10% off every meal was donated towards Grey Bruce Hospice Inc.
The total amount raised on the night was $1600.00.
Day-of Events
Puck Toss – Presented by Smith & Hladil Home Hardware Building Centre
Our traditional puck toss took place during the second intermission of the game. Pucks were on sale on the concourse during the game 1 for $2 or 3 for $5. Thanks to Smith & Hladil Home Hardware Building Centre for sponsoring our puck toss.
Silent Auction:
On the south concourse during the game, unique items were displayed and put up for auction during the game including a motorized electric kid’s bike, local business gift packages, and more.
Mystery Pucks:
Fans purchased signed mystery pucks during the game, each special Hockey for Hospice autograph puck is signed by a current member of the Attack. There are 3 specially signed pucks corresponding to three unique prizes which were announced during the game.
Bucket Pass – presented by Huron Tractor
During the first tv timeout in period 1 fans participated in our traditional bucket pass where they are asked to provide any amount they feel comfortable providing to the charity cause. A record $9,691.00 was raised in the bucket pass.
