Owen Sound defensemen Sam Sedley has been named player of the week, after registering a goal and four assists over the Attack’s two game weekend.

As the Owen Sound offence has exploded over the past few games, so too has the St. Mary’s, ON native, being a driving force of the offence from the backend.

Sedley kicked his weekend off, with a goal and assist during Friday night’s Midwest division tilt against the Guelph Storm. The 19-year old defensemen then continued to contribute offensively Saturday night as the Bears clashed with the Sudbury Wolves in a heated affair. Sedley picked up three assists Saturday night to bring his season total to 34 helpers, just four shy of last season’s career best. The blue liner assisted on both power play goals by Colby Barlow, one the first of the game and the other the game winner, while also picking up an apple on Ethan Burroughs’ marker early in the second period.

Sedley has enjoyed a nice season offensively this year, having registered five goals to go along with his 34 assists as he continues to display why he is a top offensive defensemen in the league.
